Looking for some help and hopefully someone here can help me. I am in the process of a separation from my spouse and this has been going on for over one year. I am being told by my lawyer that I need to publish in the local a newspaper in the classifieds a letter stating that I am no longer responsible for this persons debts. Anyone have any idea on where I can get a sample letter?

I want to pay BIG LTD off after Christmas, I hope they will allow me to pay them off, after reading all the nightmares about them I hope they don't debit my new account until I have to close it out. The only reason I am paying them off is because I don't want my boss involved at work. I work retail doing inventory, and I can't have him getting calls, I have no voice mail anymore at work.

I received a letter in the mail addressed to my wife's first name, but someone elses last name. It was from Debt Recovery Solutions and they said it was for Sprint in the amount of $819.15. We have never had Sprint so I called and told them that there was no one at this address with this last name. They told me the last 4 digits of the SS # and it matched my wife's. Any ideas on what I should do? I checked her credit report from one of the big three and there was nothing on there. The company said the debt had already been reported to the Credit Report Companies.

Help! I'm another lost soul with PDL's. Our dental office was bought out by another dentist. I'm on commission and my paychecks have been cut in half, So like a fool I took out a PDL when I started getting behind, thinking things would turn around and business would pick back up. It didn't, and now I have 3 PDL's which I'm going to have to default on. My check wasn't even enough to cover rent let alone any PDL's. I planned on closing my acct.

I have a few questions: Is it legal for a credit card company to send you to a debt collector after missing a couple of payments. Then, after the debt collector doesn't verify or validate your dispute, is it legal for the credit card company to continue to report your account as delinquent without sending you any billing statements after sending you to the debt collector? Furthermore, charging you off when your account is suppose to be with the debt collector? Then without any notice to you send you to another debt collector (law firm) threatening to sue you after they have charged off.

I just received a nasty call(630-760-1110) from Alliance Asset Management-representing Second Wallet. This was a payday loan I took out a few months ago. The loan was for $300.00. When I asked them to mail met the loan documents, they got even nastier. I have no idea who these people are. I paid back $150.00, plus over $100.00 in bank fees (they debited my account when I asked them not to). They say my balance is $230.00 and I feel this matter is settled. Do you have a number for Second Wallet?

I have been trying to correct some of my past credit problems and I sent a letter to Asset Acceptance to validate the debt for several accounts that they hold. Today I received in the mail a validation from every letter that I sent. I am not sure what I need to do now. Basically the letter states the creditor, original account number, principal, interest/fees, balance and then my current information. On some of the letters it has a last transaction date and some there are not any dates. I guess I was hoping that the letters were going to come back and say we cannot verify your debt.
