A collection agency called my Dad's current work about a business debt with a prior job. The woman that they spoke with is not an employee of his, he is an independent contractor and she has been used as a number simply as verification of his employment for renting homes, etc. We don't know how/where they got the number. The woman explained that she is not his office manager (which they for some reason thought she was) and that he is an independent contractor for the corporation.

A check or a Money Order? I want to send Unifund a check per my settlement agreement but I've heard only mail them Money Orders so they wont have your banking information? True? Does it really matter the form of payment you send them?

I'm so excited & just had to share with you all! My first payments to Discover & Chase BOTH posted today! I'm super excited. FINALLY feel like a weight has been lifted from me. Starting the program was scary & tough. I thought I'd be ridiculed or yelled at by the consolidation company for being so irresponsible. However they were fantastic & made me feel better-even at my most stressy moments. You guys have been invaluable to me & I love you dearly for helping me out when I got all stressy. I still have the debts, but I feel fantastic knowing the ball is FINALLY in motion.

hello all - so i am new to this site and i actually feel slightly better knowing that you all exist and are out and about trying to help others. a big thanks for that. now - on to my major pdl issues..! again, i live in virginia. all of my 5 (!!!) pdls have been received via internet. (no storefronts) i, like so many others that i have read about, am having my account drained from the monthly rollover service fees and most of my direct deposited checks are being taken each month. grr... i found myself borrowing more to pay off another.

Hi, I seeking for advice. This is what happened to me: I used to have excellent credit 750 I bought a foreclosure house and made 35,000 profit in 1 year. Then I bought another foreclosure house that was fire damaged and I put a lot of money to fix it. Since I spent all of my money a used my credit cards to fix it. That's how I get into debt. The house was beautifully fix and upgradded. But, the market started to fall and the loan that I got for that house was not a good deal. I refinanced the house to pay my credit cards but my credit score got lowered and my new payment higher.

Im not going be able to pay 3 of my store front loans (pdl) and dont know how to handle it. I have hinted around to the cash advance co. about waiting until next pay period but won't agree to it. I was told to maybe default on it. i live in the state of tennessee. any advice or help is appreciated greatly. jd

I would like to ask a couple collection agencies to validate the accounts reported on my credit report. They have been on my credit report for years.I want to know what they are from and when they are scheduled to come off of my CR, and if they are even valid anymore! Since it has been more than 30 days since the 1st contact w/ the CA, do they not have to respond? Do I ask the credit bureaus to investigate it? Don't they just verify, and not validate? Thanks in advance!

I am so glad i found this place I dont know what to do and I keep crying al day long. I have 13 payday loans and i cant payany more. What can I do? My boyfriend is going to really be mad when he find out.

my boyfriend and i opened a checking account and he was the main one , i was the under him. we had different names. even if i wrote the payday loan checks ,,,am i totaly responsible for them. when he was with me they were written,( he knew what he was doing}. he skipped we were married for 6 weeks.
