Wow, I'm totally impressed by this community. After looking around at different financial/credit related boards all weekend, nothing really compares to the genuine support people seem to be offering up around here. I haev lots more reading to do here to learn more, and would like to walk through the debt options offered through on this site, but will save that for later when I'm not at work and have access to my creditor info. Anyway, I need some tips on dealing with a couple of creditors. While most of my accounts are current, two of them have just become past due.

A debt collector has recently called my Grandmother and gave her the exact amount that was owed to them. Is this legal? 1) I am 24 years old and not under the age of 18. 2) My grandmother never has been or has never said that she was my legal gaurdian. So my question is, was it legal for this person to give my personal information out like that??

I sent out my DV letters out and copies of Attorney General complaints and BBB to Arrowhead Investments. I received in the mail a letter stating that they sold my account to Icollect. and I must go through them to take care of it. They go on to say they "provided me with a copy original loan documents to show me they haven't violated Florida law." They say they advise I remove my complaint with BBB and attorney general and forward it to the collection agency. They go on to give me the contact # for Icollect who I have never heard from yet.

I got a letter back from the BBB and a copy of a letter ARM gave them and the BBB is asking me to respond. In short ARM says that I signed an agreement that says I will comply with the state laws that Arrowhead is in. And that an online payday loan doesn't have to go by the state law I am in. So they are based in another state and I am in Florida. Does anyone have any legal documents that state an online payday loan company needs to follow the state laws of the borrower because ARM says they don't. I would love to give the BBB something solid that contradicts that. Thanks everyone.

Back on my feet and trying to get a car loan. I have accessed my 3 reports which had some mis-information which has been corrected by 2 credit bureaus. Equifax is being a pain. They have my date of birth wrong, along with some other things. I do not have a car loan, nor a mortgage in my name. All of that is under my husband. I am paying the balance of my credit card of $2000 in the next 2 weeks. I do have some charge offs from a few years ago that I would like to take care of.
