How do I stop pdl companies from adding the fees?

18 years 4 months ago
Let me keep this very short. I took out six payday loans. It was a huge mistake. I live in Texas and would like to pay them all off, but need to do so in smaller amounts than what they are requesting! Also, how do I get them to stop adding the fees?

Academy Collections were unfriendly and threatening

18 years 4 months ago
I just got off the phone with Academy Collections and they were very unfriendly and threatening. The guy was asking for my attorney's name (I don't have one) and because I couldn't pay the amount they were asking was trying to make me out to be a liar and said I was uncooperative and unwilling to work with them. I don't know what to do and am scarred. He wouldn't really tell me what they do next and wouldn't even give me a day or two to try and come up with some money to pay. Help!

I BEAT Ohio payday lenders!!

18 years 4 months ago
I don't want to give anyone guidance or advice as I don't feel I'm qualified for that but I do want to share my experience so those in need may glean some strength and hope from it. I still have to pay off my payday loans, but I’m doing it on MY terms now – not theirs. It’s quite lengthy, but I want to make sure I cover all the bases. Here goes: For many months I was juggling 3 to 4 payday loans at any given time totaling anywhere from $800 to $1200. I had gotten storefront pdl's from Express Payroll Advance, CheckSmart, National Check Cashers and Cashland.

Laws in NH for Wage Assignment/Garnishment?

18 years 4 months ago
What are the legal laws for wage assignment in NH? How soon after a default on a loan can someone enact a wage assignment? Is there a timeline like 30 days etc.? I've been trying to find a website, but I'm not having much luck.

Payday loan help

18 years 4 months ago
Hi there. I've been reading the forums for help, and can't seem to find quite what I'm looking for. I got a call from A.R.M. (apparently a "law office" about a payday loan I took in September of 2006 from Payday Online. They said I owed $550, due immediately, of course. The original loan was for $400. I've paid a total of $2040 (17 payments $120). However, those were "interest payments." You know the ones you pay that keep extending your loan? Anyway, Surely I've paid enough by now? I read on here that in some cases you can get a refund. Could I get one? If so, how?
