Should you be behing on payments before trying to negotiate a settlement?

I sent verbal acceptance letter to collection agency, and I am waiting their acceptance letter with signature. But they left a voice message on my phone yesterday. They want me to call back. Can you guess the reason? and do I need to call them?

I have searched high and low to find contact information for this lender. A debit has been coming out of my checking account under National Payday Loans, and I cannot for the life of me seem to find out whose dba that is. I noticed the transaction code (or whatever it's called) is the same one that MTE uses on my statement. Any help woud be greatly appreciated, as I would like to pay this off in full as quicly as possible. I reside in PA. Thanks!

I received an email from one these companies today. They've changed the way they do business since the new laws concerning the interest rates they can charge the military. They are licensed in Delaware, and stated a whole bunch of Supreme Court cases that they say proves that states can't control commerce between state lines, etc etc. They did agree, although it's a different amount, to give me a refund. It's a little over 2 grand. Here's the catch, they want my new account number, routing number, etc etc. I really really want this refund.

I'm active duty Army, and got 2 separate loans for $300 each in May and July. I paid back $1,310 total before finally stopping payment on yet another installment. I threatened the company with action from my JAG lawyer and the next day my loan was marked Paid In Full.

How do they determine how much you've made over the last 6 months, by pay stubs, check your bank account? I'm wondering because about 3 months ago I received a check from my late Mothers pension? I was wondering if that's going to mess me up?

Hello, I have been lurking this site for a while and finally decided to post. Me and my girlfriend are in some debt trouble and really arent sure the best way to go about resolving it. We owe collectively about 35K this includes student loans, a few credit cards and some other small personal loans. We are not late on any of our payments we are able to usually pay a little more then is due for example on our AMEX our payment is 300$ we can usually pay about 500$.

I think at the end of this year you have to reregister your number. Also keep in mind not to sign up for any sweepstakes. Most if not all of them in the fine print state that you are giving permission for solicitation calls from their affilates and whomk ever they sell them to.
