Does the Department of education charge you extra interest over the contracted 7% when you pay back in a garnishment method?? does any one know the law on this??? thanks

I have also recieved several voicemails form this number. I spoke with Crystal Hunnington at ext 380. I called and spoke with Crystal on Monday and was told that I have an outstanding payday loan that I will have to pay this week or I will go to jail. The Name she used was some Phillips and Assoc. I do not have a payday loan with anybody and the one I had 4 years ago has long since been paid. I don't know what I should do. Do I pay again or not? The loan I had was for $200. but I have to repay $850. Is this a scam or not?

Can one of these letters be sent to the original creditor (PDL) or do you have to wait until it goes to collections? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question I just don't understand all of this stuff.

Well! Got a debt validation from Forster. I was surprised, since I heard that LVNV (their client) never validates. Here's the info. Creditor/Orginal Creditor: LVNV A/P/O HSBC Name on Account: NJBETTY Current Address: Addy is Correct SSN on acount (last 4 #) : Numbers are correct Contract date: 5/2001 Charge off date: 12/2005 Last payment date: 5/2001 Last Payment amount: 50 Now, the questions - How can the contract date and the last payment date be the same?

I'm feeling better and better about this and beginning to feel like maybe I can get this under control finally. :) I got an email yesterday from ZipCash with a settlement offer. It is a little bit over what I calculated I still owed with the Florida law, however, I'm going to do it. Then this morning I wake up and find a letter from the BBB saying that United Cash Loans has responded to my complaint. I opened it up and it is said that they would as a "good will gesture" zero out my account and consider it paid in full. They refused to give a refund though.

have 6 checks at InstaChek. Have been calling and writing them to send the statements showing what I owe. I only received one many months back and called, only to be told I had 5 more. I asked for a statement but nothing came.. I am on a disability and have no transportation to go to their office as they request. All I want to do is pay it off before they turn them in to DA's office.How do I get my statement?
