ok although i don't live close to this city or have never even heard of it til now... i'm so confused over the big deal over there! Our society is so policitally correct ... this young man beat and almost killed another student so why is this such an outrage? I really don't get it! And just now on tv they had his atty on, a real wiener! ;) They asked him so why is it ur client is still in jail (speaking of the young man, 18, who has 2 battery charges and was on probation at time of the fight) His atty's answer was because he wasn't released! WTH?!?! Dohhhhhhhhhh!

My wife is an authorized user on my credit cards, I am on disability Social Security and haven't been able to make my payments for several months. They are now calling my wife about the late payments even though the credit cards are in my name only. Can they try to get a judgement against her?

I received a private loan through sallie mae in 2003 to attend a trade school. At that time I was looking forward to working in a new field. A year after that I became sick and discovered that I have MS. I am on permanent disability. I have written sallie mae several times requesting some assistance in reducing my monthly payment which has gone up to $217.00 this year. Since it is capitalized interest I am screwed..as the balance never seems to go down. My sister co-signed this student loan and therefore I do not want to stick her with this debt.

I just wanted to let people know that even with the new bankruptcy laws that it is not impossible to file pro se Chapter 7, or without a lawyer. Most lawyers will tell you that it is now too complicated for a normal person to do, but I just recently did all the paperwork for a friend of mine and she just got her discharge papers in the mail yesterday. BUT - I would only recommend filing on your own if you have no assets. Assets complicate things. Depending on your state certain assets can be exempt.

I made some bad and stupid financial mistakes when I was younger. Granted I'm only 27, I know I can correct the mistakes and hopefully get a good credit score. I have no clue why it dawned on me to research online pdl's but once I started I found this site. I have found so much helpful information that I am taking on the pdl companies and other negative marks on my credit report on my own. I have read several success stories and I am bound and determined to succeed!! I am doing everything that you guys recommend and I know I will reap awesome benefits!!
