Before I became disabled in 1999 I always paid my debts. Now that I am totally disabled I have been contacted that they intend on sueing and placing judgement on me. I have no money to go bankrupt. I need advise how to handle this. I already spoke to them and told them my situation. It didn't seem to matter. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help! I'm desperate!

Anyone know if a bank will make arrangements to pay an overdraft amount? My bank would not work with us and help to get the balance back to 0. They pretty much used the idea of "you got yourself into this mess"......so, we are stuck with an 1100 balance and it's now on the telecheck report...YEAH! That's what we were looking to accomplish, isn't it????? Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOU!!!!

I think I have 2 collection agencies trying to collect on the same account. The account is being settled with the original creditor. I received paperwork from one of the companies (along with extremely frequent and derogatory calls), so I was able to send them a Cease and Desist letter. The other company only leaves automated messages and when I call, I just get another recording. What should I do? Can I send a Cease and Desist letter without having any real information about the account they are trying to collect on (I can only assume it is this particular account)?

Guess who found my new bank account??? Guess, go ahead, you'll never get it! RIGHT! Geneva Roth. They have debited once and I got it refunded, then, today another 400 plus 30 for the first (NFS) from getting it back, of course it was under a totally different name! So, I have done the paperwork today to get my money back, AGAIN!!! and then will be moving accounts AGAIN!!! I have been so tedious with my acct # and cards, nothing online, etc.....Don't know how this happened at all. But I am sooooo sick to death of it all !!!

Hi I am new and really am so grateful this board exists! Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a secured loan ( I am a new home owner) even though I have bad credit? Everyone keeps telling me now that I am a home owner I should have no problem getting a loan ( I need repairs to this house desperately) but my credit is shot from divorce . Is it still possible? My house got appraised for 20,000 more than what I paid for it and I am not sure if any of that is taken into concideration when I am trying to get a loan with bad credit. I am confused... Ok so now hubby is getting cold feet about sending CACH their payment tomorrow per Fed Ex. SIGHS. Ok here's the deal: He's saying that the court date set is for Monday Sept 24, 2007 for garnishment of his wages. He's thinking of going to it and trying to fight the garnishment of "HIS" wages since this is and always has been "MY" debt... CACH has NEVER once contacted him, tried to collect this amount from him. He never even knew of this until he was supeoned to go to court. The house is under his name only as he had it before we were ever married. We never added my name to it.

We sent a settlement letter for an acct to Rannefeld & Assoc (plus others) the middle of August and asked them to respond in writing within 10 days. They contacted my husband today (his debt) and offered 70% then quickly lowered it to 50% after my husband said no to the 70%. My husband asked if they received our fax and the gentleman said that he had. At that time I came home and my husband handed the phone to me. The gentlemen than went on to state that Rannefeld had sent us an offer to settle our acct for the same amount that we had offered to them but that we had rejected their offer.

I got a payday loan in Alabama about 5 months ago for $400. paid it off, then got another and another, then our house cought fire and we lost everything. I wasnt able to pay back the last payday loan I took out. They call me constantly saying they are going to take me to small claims court and get for fraud becouse its been 5 months and I closed out the bank account I used already. I do want to pay this loan but money is hard right now. I need a little time and they dont want to give me anymore. My question is can they take me to small claims court? How long does that take?

Why is that sometimes a post something that has 5 words in it and I get 10 points and sometimes I post 200 words and I get 20 points? The posts are in the same forum! Also, does the system reward Moderators, HOF & Debt Samaritans more that the rest?
