Does anyone know if utility/gas companies are bound by the Fair Credit Billing Act? I am helping my dad with the gas company, here's the problem: He bought a new house and moved last June 2006. He didn't sell his old house until Feb 2007. For the 7 months he wasn't living there, he kept the thermostat at 55 just so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Paid his bills every month, they averaged about $69/mo. 2/16/07 my dad called the gas company and cancelled his service. He also told them to perform a final meter reading for his final bill. They never came to read the meter.

I been paying on my collections that I have not cared about in years and just recently signed up on True Credit. Does anyone here use this website? I can not find no help files on their site, but does True Credit give you updated credit reports or is the first one is all you get when you signed?

Credit Solutions? They seem nice enough and explained everything very well. Gave me no false hopes but I am still leary of all of them! Trinity Financial Mission? Not the same as Trinity Debt. They say they are Christian based and use Christian principles to settle debt. Anyone?

does moving around debt on credit cards from one to another at lower interest rates hurt your credit scores

I know I mentioned this somewhere else, probably in my PDL thread when I was opening a new account... I was told I was flagged. There was something on my report. An account opened in Ohio (or something near there) under my SSN. The name was an odd one and the date reported was in Feb 2006. The name looked like a strange misspelling of someone I had dated briefly and the date was a couple of months or so after I stopped seeing them. I went online and ordered a report. I just got it. First of all they spelled my name wrong. I don't know what people's problems are. I did it online...

Company/Individual reported: Lawgistix I was a "customer" of Lawgistix. They took me for much money and did virtually nothing. I had to drop out of the program to stop the theft from my limited funds. They took advantage of me at a crucial time in my life. I feel like I was ripped off when I trusted what they told me up front. My advice: Try another company and be aware. I tried to avoid bankruptcy, but Lawgistix put the final nail in my coffin forcing me into it.

Hi. I have been served without knowing anything, whether it is mine or original creditor. I have never contacted by this collection previously and I have not even received anything from the court, yet I found from the court record that the case against me was filed. I contacted an attorney to represent me. And I was told if win, 40% of whatever sued will be paid to the law office. If lose, that's it. Whichever it turns, I would end up paying some even it turns out to be not mine? Is it too late to take it out of the court by contacting the collection to settle?

Hi, I have made payment arrangements with 3 payday loan store I am having trouble with American cash to go in wi I was do to 1750 and I called them to say I do not have the money and wanted to set up payment arrangements They refused and interest is still collecting. Cash net USA states I owe 1900 but the orginial was 1300 told them I need interest stopped. Magnum cash is the same they did set up payments. I do have an appt set up wtih catholic charities for help is there anything else I can do I did close my checking account

I keep getting new notifications about posts on this today I have gotten several and I got go to the new ones....it looks like my page runs out and it goes back to the beginning of this post in 2005? How can I fix this? Thanks so much :P
