Help with PDLs! Lousiana!

18 years 5 months ago
Okay, guys......my life insurance policy is looking better and better. I am in so far over my head in PDL debt, I may as well have someone start digging my grave. I live in Louisiana, I need to close my bank account and open another. I am willing to try and pay back the principal, but from reading here it looks like some of who I owe is illegal, and I may have paid too much already. I have 9 PDLs all internet. CashNetUSA, PaydayOne, PaydayYes, PaydayCashLink, MTE (this one has different names), BIG, GFSIL, PaydayOK, Cash Direct Express just off the top of my head.

Floridas New Breed of Bottom Feeder

There is a law in Florida, and probably other states as well, in regards to subcontractors and liens. If your General Contractor does not pay a Sub for his work the Sub can put a lien on you home even if you paid your GC in full. There is a company here called Goldmine Financial Services that is paying 50 cents on the dollar for these liens. They advertise that fast nickels are better than slow dimes. The subs are buried with these liens and want there money right now so they sell.

Filing Bankruptcy - Consider the Alternatives

18 years 5 months ago
I put all of my information in at the beginning and it came back with my best option being bankruptcy. This is not an option for me. I know it figures this because for the next best scenario, I would have to be able to pay 55% of it off in 60 months or less. I don't care if it's 120 months as long as I can afford it monthly and there is an end in sight. Would that be considered? If I wanted to do debt settlement? Or would I be required to stick to the 60 months?

Raising score and/or paying collections

18 years 5 months ago
I just pulled my credit score (i already have all 3 reports) and see that I'm at 501. I'm right between poor and very poor as a rating. I have a spreadsheet of all my debts (all but one are collections). I am only interested in the ones that have a "fall off" date of 2009 or later since the ones going to fall off in the next year and a half are of no interest to me as of right now. The debts are split between 17 companies and are a little under $15,000.

Letter from MCM - Is it valid? Should I bother?

18 years 5 months ago
Received a letter from midland credit management addressed to my wife (her old name) and an old address in Oregon. They state that they purchased a debt from Citibank and that she owes them money. IF this is true, it would have been part of a bankruptcy settlement from more than 18 years ago. What can/should we do?

Can this company call on a holiday? I received about 4 calls from them yesterday (Labor Day). I thought it was illegal for them to contact you on a holiday.

How to pay them?

18 years 5 months ago
okay so here is my dilema. I have several loans I have way overpaid principal and interest adn have no intention of paying any more. But a couple of otheres that I have yeat to pay the full principle and some are legal. (Cashnetusa) So I am going to close my account after talking with the bank and opening a new account. Now there is no way in hell any PDL is getting my new acct. # so my question is how can I pay the legit companies. I don't want to give out any debit card number or anything. Strictly money orders or what? Thanks you all are most helpful!!!

2 down..5 to Go

When I checked my e-mail this morning I was expecting a million nasty e-mails since I have defaulted on all my loans, sent, e-mailed and faxed all my letters and have been waiting for the onslaught. Much to my suprise, I had a PIF in my inbox...and no nasty e-mails...yet!! Along with the PIF came a valued customer approval for $500.00.. (I was only approved for 300.00 the first time). I would so love to reply with exactly what I think but, I am going to take this and run...of course there was no mention of the refund they owe me but again...I am just happy never to hear from them again.
