EZ Loans

18 years 5 months ago
I have several outstanding pay day loans. I don't know what my options are. This payday loan company particularly harasses me several times a week at work via phone and email. I am in TX and don't know how I should proceed. Every time they talk to me they tell me they are going to put this on my credit or take other legal means. I did get pulled into the $1500 payday loans that ends up being several small loans and everyone taking their ungodly fees out which did get me over in my checking account because it was beginning to be more every week than what my checks were. Any suggestions???

The calls have started

Sorry it has been a while but I have been quite busy. I posted a topic before about my husbands PDL through store fronts. I found out he owes to 5 instead of 4 like I had originally thought. My husband has PDL with 4 different places two are affliates, he owes out every two weeks approximately 3,600.00. The checks have never made it through the bank because he walks in and pays the accounts. Of course any of you in this boat will understand that he borrows from one to pay the other. First off let me say that I think he has a problem, a huge problem.

Getting Worried

Ok guys my direct deposit is going in soon to me new account. Im still trying to get PIFs from quickest-cash-advance, oneclick and ameriloan. I am afraid they may try to get my money somehow through ACH debit or my HR department but I haven't heard anything from HR about any wage assignments against me. I am waiting on BBB to respond. Just a little worried. Spoke with oneclick they are still trying to debit a closed account. I work for the county government in NC, goudah, cannr or who can help are wage assignments legal in NC?

There is a Bizzarro website out there that is just like this one but is full of debt collectors. Here is a reply that I copied from the question; "what make a good debt collector." "I would say the best collector has the same traits as the best salesperson in time and client management.

Been reading this forum for awhile, you all are great folks for what you do here; anywho got a few pdl myself that I am just ired of. Two store fronts and six on line. I read to be careful of the store fronts, I was I checked their license status and they either are canceled or don't have one. Sounds good to me. The on-line loans I'll post more about later but basicly I had 2 that where ok plus the store fronts, took out 4 more on line pdls to pay off the store fronts but why should I if they are not legal?

Flaw in Oregon;s new PDL laws

18 years 5 months ago
There is a major flaw in Oregon's new payday loan laws that went into effect on July 1, 2007. Under these new laws, lenders can only charge up to 36% interest. BUT - They can still charge $10 for every $100 loaned as an origination fee! Um, the rest of the law is great, but why do an interest rate cap, but then allow for fees? Before the new law you would pay about $120 for a $100 loan. So now you will only pay about $113? When most states enact an interest rate cap, the pdl's vanish. While many did close, a lot are still open. And this is why! They can still charge plenty!

Emailing about wage assignment

Can you email the companies saying you revoke the wage assignment? Will this work or does it need to be sent in certified/returned receipt?

Says it so well...

I found that little gem as part of a discussion on the senate passing a bill to regulate payday loan lenders.

anybody ever deal with apothaker

18 years 5 months ago
anybody ever deal with apothaker and associates? They just called, left message, said to call them. No 'we are debt collector, any info collected will be used for that purpose' no letter in mail. Is this a fdcpa violation, and who can I call to sue them? I will not call them back, unless somebody advises me too.
