I'm from Oregon and against my better judgment I took out a payday loan about 2 months ago from total lending. I made my first payment (or so its called) wih no problems. The second payment was debited from my acct several days early causing $200 in fee's. I contacted my bank and disputed this item not as fraudulent but due to debiting the payment early. Prior to doing the dispute I tried contacting the company and left my number serveral times for a supervisor to call but. Nobody ever called so the payment was returned to them. I figured at that time they would contact me.

Has anyone has any experience applying it to paydayloans?

What if i only authorized money to be taken out of my account one time only and i find out that they have taken out the same amount 30 days later without my authorization. What can i do?

I just returned from a trip to find an offer of settlement from First National Collection Bureau Inc I called a couple hrs ago because I am very interested in the settlement. I live in Costa Rica, so I can't actually get the payment to them within the five day limit she gave me. When I said I didn't think I could do it in that time frame she said Well, it's your credit and HUNG UP ON ME. Real polite person, don't you think? She probably had way to much coffee this morning or hates her job or her life but I sure got the brunt of her misery.

Westbury Ventrues had emailed me stating that they would use my social secury number to find out what banking institution and my bank account number I now have and automatically debit my account. Can they do this?? kfil

Ok a couple questions actually: One restated from another thread: The report lists collections with this data: Date Opened Reported Since Date of Status Last Reported Reported since and last reported are pretty self explanatory, but I'm not sure about date opened and date of status. Could someone give me definitions on these two things? Next question: how do you get the full account number off the credit report? The report says for your protection the last few digits do not display...so if you reference these account numbers in your DVs, how do you get the missing numbers?

What is a collection agency actually required to provide if you send a debt validation letter to them. I had a letter sent to me stating: "our records indicate that you owe a balance of $$$ to ???. ??? has been retainged by ??? to recover the balance." They tried to tell me this was proper validation. So my question is, what are they actually required to provide for proper validation? Thanks

On my CR the are 4 entries all the same CA and all for the same bill. They just assigned 4 differant CA account #'s. I sent a letter to the CA to validate and mentioned that I found it interesting that all 4 accounts were for the same bill. I just received their response. There was only 1 account # on this response, Looks like the most resent that they had added. Bottom line the sent me a computer printout with their letter head and accross the top of the letter in large print VALIDATION. Not much detail, the name of the original creditor and the $ ammount owed. I do not owe this debt.
