Do any of the internet pdls report you to the credit bureaus if you default? Also, do any of them check your credit report when you first apply (even though I know they say they don't)?

Does anyone know who this phone number belongs to: 1-800-918-3849? They called me house yesterday and told my daughter I had called their "help" line the night before and they were acting very panicked wondering "if I was okay." What the heck?? Then they called my house back today and said they were calling about legal charges. Just now they called my work and it looked like a 4040000000 number?? I tried to call back but I just get a recording that the person I am calling is not available. Does anyone know who this is or where I can write them a cease and desist letter?

A little good news for a change....I just got off the phone with my bank....My account is closed AND can not be forced open. I explained in my other post I had to use the same bank.... Once I explained the situation, the girl was great and explained everything to me. (Embarassingly, the person I talked to knows me.) It is not their policy to allow an account to be forced open. I explained I still had stuff out and she said to make a list, fax it and she can repost it to the new account. In addition they can reroute my direct deposit to my new account.

Has anyone heard of the Consumer Law Center? They are in Florida, I think and I hear they can really help with clearing up debts and I have a friend I would like to refer to them but I have searched all over the web and cannot find a phone number or website.
