Now, what is THAT suppose to mean? I received a letter from a collection attorney who is representing a CA. It says my account has been referred to them for collection. It also says "an attorney has not yet reviewed your account". So why the letter? Should I respond to this with a DV? One of my neighbors told me they received a similar letter about 8 months ago and nothing ever came of it. Never heard another word. Not sure what to do with this letter.

I really don't want to go to work today :x Yep still on second shift, but thats not too bad. But I just hate working with people who complain all the time and that are never happy. They make it bad for the rest of us. I work on an assembly line and we have one person that is very fast, she is a good worker BUT, she is soooo crabby and when ever the line leader tells her something she comes back with a no i'm not gonna do that. Then she slows down grrrrr.

I was about to switch insurance companies and my agent said he could give me a better deal because when he ran a new credit check he said our score went up :) So i checked it out and I am thinking that because some of our old collections (that were paid) dropped off our report and now with the mortage and some other loans being paid on time. Thats what made it go up :) I was wondering why we were getting credit card offers in the mail again. Still don't want one though, at least not yet anyway. Doing a happy dance right now :) lol

I have been fighting with my HR dept in reference to Sonic Payday they are loan sharks!!!!they sent my company a Voluntary Wage Assignment which I revoked back on July, and Sonic Payday continued calling my job and now my wages are being garnished. I spoke to HR and explained to her that this was not a court order and was not legal and she still did not care, I told her I had revoked the wage assignmet and she told me that how can I revoke it after I received the funds that the only way I could have revoked it was if I did not receive the money and that I was responsible to pay them back.

I wasn't on yesterday, and getting ready to get off now, but I need your prayers. I had to put my mom back in the hospital again. Last Oct., the pharmacy gave her the wrong dose of medicine, she had a heart attack, and it has gone downhill from there. She settled with the pharmacy-they got off really,really easy. She has had 2 more heart attacks, had a pacemaker/defibrillator, has congestive heart failure, and has about 18% of her heart working.

Here's a couple helpful hints when you're dealing with collection agencies. These should apply to most situations. 1. If you have a problem, or are disputing the amount that is in the collection agency, deal with it yourself! Don't expect the problem to just go away, nor should you expect the company that put you in collections to listen to your complaint once and pull your file from collections. If you have a dispute with your credit card bill, handle it the FIRST time you notice it...don't just wait 6 months until someone is calling you about it to make your complaints. 2.

Great site/forum and thanks to those who have taken the time/effort to put it together. Now on to the "fun" part---IRS Debt. About 4 years ago, I owed the IRS around 17,000 and set up and installment plan which I stayed on for awhile. Then I had some really bad years re other debts, etc....fell off the plan for a bit.

I owe about $2,000 in credit cards and payday loans. I can't seem to get started on paing off my loans and still live comfortably. Finance caharges are taken Bi-weekly and my paycheck is cut by more than half. Help!

HELP!! I am in real trouble with PDL's in Florida. I closed my bank account, and now I am being called at work, home, cell, etc. How can I work out a repayment plan with these hoodlums?
