Irony of the Week: Lifelock CEO’s Identity Stolen
Todd Davis, who is so confident in the strength of his LifeLock identity theft protection service that he posts his social security number on the company’s website, has had his identity stolen by a fast cash loan crook. Davis, who founded and is the CEO of LifeLock, has offered extravagant guarantees to LifeLock customers that their identities cannot / will not be plundered if the subscribe to the service.
updating my credit score on True Credit - a good idea?18 years 6 months ago I recently joined True Credit. Am I doing myself harm by clicking on the "update score" button? Does this make True Credit pull all 3 of my reports, thus resulting in a "hard inquiry"? How often should I be updating my score?
Thanks!
Do I have a case?18 years 6 months ago After trying to recover from divorse, juggle the mortgage, and pay varoius credit card companies, I finally resorted to Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2005. At the time Wolpoff & Abramson had my account and was trying to collect. My lawyer notified them of the bankruptcy. They odviously did not report this to my origional creditor, Wells Fargo Financial, because WFF is still reporting to the credit bureaus that my accout is 120 days past due/sold to another lender/seroiusly delinquent/charged off ect.
Dealing with Bottom Feeders18 years 6 months ago I find it disturbing that so many people do not heed good advice and continue to communicate with the Bottom Feeder type collection agencies by continuing to accept calls from them or communicating by email or fax. I read lines like "I told them to send me a validation and they said they don't have to" or "I faxed them a cease communication letter and they ignored it." Communication without documentation is pointless. It just opens up another conduit for inimidation. If they hear emotion in your voice or sense it in your email it is like bleeding in a shark tank.
Can anyone identify these numbers?18 years 6 months ago I got a call from someone, the number on the caller ID is 800-926-3027. The message on the answering machine left a different number, 800-650-3459. I do not recognize either one and could not find anything on them in whocalled.us
Anyone know who this is?

theft by check?18 years 6 months ago We had a loan that we had to let go, it was affecting our other bills. The check was returned to the loan office for nsf. I got a call from them that said I have thirty days to pay extension fees or the whole amount or they will send it to the da and file theft by check charges. Can they do this? I have read the rules but am still confused.
The loan was from First Cash Advance in houston. The original amount was for $520 and paying $132 extension fees and such every two weeks. I have paid about $530 so far but only fees, nothing has went to the actual principal.
Eastside Lenders18 years 6 months ago Okay. I had a $300 pdl with this company. I did all the hooty-do stuff required - letters, revoking, filing complaints, etc. I got a letter shortly thereafter from them stating they were ready to go to arbitration. I fired them off an email which was not nice at all telling them pdl's are illegal in my state, blah, blah, and they spouted their usual "our state law vs your state law" deal to me. On and on. So, my last correspondence with them was July 19th.
Cash Tree18 years 6 months ago Okay...I have a loan with Cash Tree that I actually forgot about. To date, I have paid them $225 on a $300.00 loan. I cannot see where they are licensed in Florida (where I live) and I also do not know where to look to see if they are licensed in their state (Utah). Legally I owe them $75.00 on a $300.00 loan. Has anyone dealt with them at all? I want to make sure I do my research before I send them "the letter". Thanks for your help!
How to stop my account from being debited18 years 6 months ago I was hoping you guys could help....
I was readin about MTE Financial on one of the other threads. I too have issues with them, they are severly overcharging me for my loan. I have tried the phone #'s in the other thread but none of them are MTE or Rio  There ia another company Im involved with name B-I-G inc pdl out of England. They have overcharged me more then MTE has. now to the important question....
Untill I get the 2 situations resolved I was wondering what is the best way to prevent them from taking my money everytime I get paid.
