what is the Statue of Limitations for a Credit card company to collect on an old account? Date of last activity is 6/01. A collection agency picked up the account in '03 but I didn't send anything to them. Yesterday I received a letter from an attorney on the collection agency's behalf but the account is over 6 years old and the original creditor has already written it off. Should I reply?

I have a few questions about getting a consultation call. 1) How long do they generally take? 2) What is meant by "Principal / Interest component of the total of each credit card" & what if I don't know that? (I can't get into one of my accounts online & they don't send me paper checks. I'm behind on payments & afraid to call them...but I do know the account # & the amount owed) 3) Can I suggest what I can afford & that be worked around? 4) Should I call my creditors & tell them I'm entering a debt management Program?

sighs...I was served a summons a few days ago from asset acceptance. It stated that I needed to respond within 20 days or judgment would be taken against me. This is the first time I have ever seen anything from this company, and the summons states that they purchased "my" debt from dell and that I owe 2800.00. I did have a dell account back in 2002, but my credit limit was only 500.00 and I know I paid it off.

Does anyone know anything about a company called powerfunding.com? They offered me a loan and I cannot find anything on the internet about them. Thanks for any info.

last year i got sucked into american webcash.com instant rebate if i signed up and had 42 dollors get taken out every week.. after looking at it i decided to send them a revoke letter for automated withdrawl.. they keep hiting my account making it negitive 900 dollars and the bank finally closed my account. About 6 mounths later i got a letter from Fredrick kelley saying i owe 2700 dollars i validated it and it showed how many times american web cash has hit my account.. after doing research and with the help of everyone here american web cash is not licensed in minnesota..

Has anyone dealt with Midpoint Management Group? They are a collection agency (junk agency I believe) collecting for HSBC/Orchard Bank. I have been with Town and Country for months now and T&C has been paying HSBC. I get a call from them trying to collect on this account I had in the past. Luckily I went through all this with the payday advance companies but they claim over the phone they have filed this with the courts. I told them hang on a second and looked at our county court records online and nothing has been filed.

I have found bits and pieces about this company...mostly negative. I have an old debt from a First Premier Card that I have been trying to track down for a few months. It was with Pinnacle and they were not willing to work out a payment arrangement so I stopped bothering with them. Tonight, I received a call from Arrow Financial. The woman was quite nice. She gave me a bunch of information which, according to my records, is accurate. She stated the company had sent a collection letter to me on the 24th, but I have not received it.
