I'm receiving calls from someone in this collection agency which insists I first verify my address before they will give me any information. I ask who is calling and what is the reason for the call but I am refused any information unless I verify my address first. I called back the number on my caller ID and found out who was calling. Is this legal? If not I'll report the agency to my state's Attorney General.

Read a article on here some time back, how a DV letter was sent and never answered, bottom line the person was told it was removed and sent back to LVNV. Well I got a letter from Capital Management Services, a Sherman Acquisition owned company, by the way which also owns LNNV funding. So I decided to send them A DV letter, they signed for it on the 23 rd, got a response on the 24th from them they no longer held the account. it was sent back to LVNV funding.

Hello, Beneficial offered me a ???settlement??? on a debt. In 2009, their collection agent sent me an offer agreeing to accept 1400.00 as payment in full on the last 2000.00 I owed. I accepted it and paid it right away. The account status was reported incorrectly and I disputed it and they changed the payment history. I disputed it twice again and each time, they changed the payment history and the CRA would send me a letter saying the account had been updated.
