I'm 21 and haven't made the best decisions; those not-best decisions combined with unfortunate working situations because of my health issues ended up putting me in debt. Just when I saved enough to get clear something again happened, and I'm even deeper than I ever wanted to be.

I, too, am dealing with the payday loan nightmare.I received the first call from United Pay Services in Florida from a heavily accented female who lied and said she was calling from the attorney general's office in Florida and tried other intimidating things. She said I owed $1000 on a $300 loan.

I hired Ficka and Associates d.b.a. USA Credit Recovery. They could not collect a dime and said that I need to take the debtor to court, which they would do. I sent them $500. for court expenses with another $500 after the case was started. They then told me they wouldn't start the case unless the full $1,000 was paid to them. I told them to forget it and send my $500 back. I NEVER heard another word, never an E-mail nor letter - and guess what? NO $500. was ever sent. Is this a scam, or what?

Good evening to all, I got a call today at work from "Mr. Bruce" at Sonic payday. I have never speaken to someone so rude before in my 39 years of life. This gentlemen said (1) you have defaulted in your loan, pay the loan and take the cash(yeah sure!) (2) I'll give you two weeks to pay the whole balance ( your so nice) (3) I am going to call your payroll and immediate Manager to explain you write back checks( :D i do all the time) and 4) last and not least, I am going to have the police come to your house and arrest you, garnish my wages, blah blah blah.

Is anyone else getting "e-cards" in your email that appear to be bogus? I've been getting them from (what appears to be) various legit services, but the url's aren't right, so I delete them. They say things such as "a classmate has sent you a card", etc. I think it's some sort of phishing.

OK...so this is number 3 I am working on in my one at a time senerio. They answered the BBB with the same stuff...I knew what I was doing because I had been a previous customer etc. Now I still disagree with everything they said...but for my own sanity I need to be done with all this stuff as quickly and as easily as possible. So I emailed them again and said I still believe you are illegal..and I still believe I have paid you but what can we work out.

I offered to pay a credit card in full a few days after the acct. with Capitol One was closed they refused payment. Is it true that in Michigan if "they" refuse payment they can not come after me through a collections company?

Anyone know if I can sue a debt collector for continuing to call me after I send them the letter to stop calling me? They even admitted they received the letter but said they don't have to stop calling me.
