Could not afford credit card debt consolidation - What should I do?

18 years 7 months ago
hi, in the past 8 years or so, I accumulated appx. 9,000.00 in credit card debt, probably with about 7 or 8 different cards. (balances ranging from 300.00-3,000.00) The last time I used any of these cards or made a payment, for that matter, was over 4 years ago. Each card, was of course, maxed out. I contacted...Genus, i think? - a credit card consolidation company, after I realized that there was no way I could afford to make the individual payments, nor afford the interest rates.

Ever Private Card

18 years 7 months ago
This is the second time my checking account has been debted for something I did not authorize. The first time was Visa Homeland Card which cost me $159.00 back in May of this year. The second time was only yesterday July 10th for $54.95 from Ever Private Card. Both times it has put me in the RED; while living on a fixed income can be devastating. There are so many crooks out waiting for helpless individuals like me. I know how both of these charges accured. I applied for online loans both times, and I feel it has something to do with these loan companies.

need contact info for hsbc younkers

18 years 7 months ago
I received a 1099 from Younkers in 2004 and now they are reporting to the credit bureau about 4 times a month stating that the account is in collections. I disputed it and they are still reporting. I need contact info so I can send a validation letter and I would like to give them a call too. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a question about a couple of phone numbers

18 years 7 months ago
Hi, my name is Tweety Gurl and I'm new here. I've been looking around this board for a little while and find it very helpful and informative. The reason I'm writing is because I'm being harassed by a junk debt collector. It's about a debt that was last paid on in 1998 and ,since I'm in Texas, the Statutes Of Limitations expired on it in 2002. Let me explain. I got married in 1996. My now ex-husband and I had a bill in both of our names. At the time that the bill started the place was called The Associates. It was one of those places that will give you money when you need it.

Need some good debt advice ASAP!

I have about 12 active credit cards all totaling over $20,000 that my Mom was helping me pay. She wanted me to establish good credit, so I've had some of these cards since I was 16 years old.My Mom and Dad recently fell into a hole and now are losing their house. My Mom can not afford to help me pay my credit cards and I am barely making it myself. I thought about bankruptcy, but would rather consolidate my debt. I'm only working part-time right now and can barely make rent. I live in San Diego so living cost here is pretty high.

Has anyone dealt with NCO collection services?

18 years 7 months ago
Supposively, my husband has an outstanding debt of 137.00 to NCO. I do know that NCO is a collection agency for a medical facility. I only know of one time my husband was hurt, and we didn't pay the bill because his boss was supposed to pay it. Anyway, it's not the 137.00 I am fighting. The thing is, NCO never called us to collect the money. We thought it had been taken care of by my husband's employer. It wasn't until our recent refinance that this came up on his credit report as being owed. So the loan company went ahead and cut a check to NCO for the 137.00.

We refinanced again!

18 years 7 months ago
We refinanced our house again. This time we got a fixed (and low!) interest rate. We consolidated all of our bills, and now just have the one payment. I'm really happy! I had put off calling the loan agent back for a month, because I really didnt think he could do anything for us. I finally called him back and asked him to see what he could do, just out of curiosityy. He called me back in less than an hour, and I was so amazed with the loan programd he had in mind for us! We are using the same loan company as our previous mortgage, so everything was just streamlined and really easy.

I was enrolled in a debt consolidation program

18 years 7 months ago
I was enrolled in a debt consolidation program about 4-5 years ago, but they went bankrupt and was never able to pay any of my debts to the creditors. I put in about $2000 to my account and I never received any of those money back. I forgot the name of the agency. Does anyone know the name of that agency? Will I be able to get my money back? What should I do? Help!

I can't get a new checking account, due to my Chexsystem report(only one old acct, that was OD and I paid it off, but it stays for 5 FRICKIN YEARS!)! So, I know more of my money will be sucked out of the bank on Friday!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I can get it back, the hard way. With copies of what I faxed telling them to stop debiting, etc.
