I was wondering if it is worth paying very small amounts to my creditors while waiting for my accounts to gather money to make a reduced offer to the creditor. I have always heard that if you are making an effort(even at 15$) that it is better than nothing at all. Does anyone know if this will help keep the creditors at bay while my money builds?

I have enrolled in with a debt settlement lawyer, and I can not find any information on the web about what VA allows and does not allow when it comes to someone trying to collect from me. So tomorrow will be the first week after defaulting on 3 payday loans... (Checksmart, Advance America, and First American Cash Advance) Checksmart told me to just come in tomorrow and pay all of it off... Advance America let me give them $100 to hold my check another week, and First American Cash Advance called my mom and told them that I was a "dead beat" which I didn't even think was legal...

What would happen if I could not pay a payday loan back on time. It is from Sonic Payday and they deduct the full amount of the loan plus their fees every pay period. I want to stop the cycle but I need a month to pay it in full not fourteen days. Could anyone give me some advice? I would appreciate any help that was necessary. Thanks.

Long story here y'all, please bear with me. DH and I bought our first home in oct of 2003. It appraised as a single family home at 15k above asking price. We recently tried to refi and the appraiser told us he had proof from the courthouse that our home is actually 2 singlewides attached, rendering it worthless (this isn't true).
