I have 6 credit cards that I used stupidly but had to in order to survive while looking for a job. Please help.

I have some debt which was racked up due to medical issues. It is in the 10-11k range on unsecured cards, I have been with NovaDebt credit counseling since March and, I couldn't be happier with them. In fact, my credit score has gone up 51 points since I began making payments through them. Anyways, HSBC happened to "misplace" a payment Novedebt sent to them thus, taking me out of the debt management program. I received a letter and a phone call the day after (Tuesday and Wednesday of last week).

Everyone needs to go see the movie "Sicko". It is a wakeup call to all. To hear stories of insurance companies and drug companies "royally screwing Americans" and how "beloved" congressmen letting it happen is deployable. This is not pro Democratic or Republican. It is pro helping your fellow man. One of best quotes was from a former member of Parlimament---"If you can spend money to kill people(was referring to WW II, but so appropriate for today), WHY can't we spend money helping people!!! Wonder if anyone in Washington can answer this question??????

The bottom line I over spent. It all started in my 20's and I just out of the house. I eventually went to a credit counseling place and I thought great I am doing just fine. Then I had a death in my immediate family and then I didn't work for at least 2 weeks. I tried paying for one bill with other bill money. Then I thought I could work and then I can catch up. Then one problem lead to another, and it just snowball. I am behind in payments to my consolidating credit.

Last week I posted a letter I found on my AG's site written to unlicensed lenders soliciting business in Indiana. In the letter it states the new statutes taking effect 07/01/07: they must all cease and desist immediately all lending untill they are licensed by the state of In. and must comply within in Indiana law. My question is this...we know they are not licensed and are illegal....

Wow, here it is the 1st of July already.... The 4th is on Wednesday so I hope everyone has a nice holiday. Hubby, Mom, and I are going to a local festival and then we will watch the fireworks later on that evening. There are a lot of fesitivals in our area this time of year that we like to go. Hopefully hubby won't be called into work since he has two days off this week instead of one. I'm going down to Columbus tomorrow to see my mother-in-law. She is in the hospital down there, she got admitted last night. I guess she was helping her daughter move and paint.

Hello all - I've not been on the site a whole lot lately, and I'm not sure how much I will be in the near future. I've developed some sort of condition that involves severe swelling (edema) in one foot and leg, which is something that 3 other members of my family have, and all of them have been diagnosed with some sort of heart condition or defect that causes it. One family member has an enlarged heart, one has a defective valve in the heart, and the other has a condition where one side of her heart functions less efficiently than the other.
