To whom it may concern: Before I get to the question I'll provide some background to my problem. Last year I was notified by mail that midland credit management (MCM) was trying to collect on a bill I had due from Southwestern Bell (a total of $55.41).

I have a question. If your bank account is closed that the pdl has the information on & you're due a refund, how do they refund you? I've gotten a couple of refunds & they credited my bank account. Well, if the account is now closed & other pdl's agree to refunds, how in the world do you get them? Thanks for any insight!

Hi Jedi Mistress, I'm being pursued by West Asset Mngment. They have phoned day and night for months, even at my job. They just sent me a letter saying they are going to garnish my wages. I am now in a position to actually repay my student loan, and I want to set up a repayment schedule with the Dept of Ed. Can I call ED directly? What do I say? I don't want to have to pay WAM for my loan, they are so nasty. I'd rather pay ED directly. Do I have a choice? Thanks for your help!!!

Two of my online payday loans Unitedcashloans and Magnum Cash Advance have a desist and refrain order against them in my state California. My question is.... Since they have this order against them does that make my contract with them null & void????

Hi, I sent in payment over 2 years ago to a collection agency to satisfy a debt. I never heard from them again after that. Then today I was checking my credit report and that same collection agency is stating that it was never paid. Evidently they never got the payment to begin with. But here is the problem. I shred all my money order receipts after a year and the money order receipt has been long gone. They keep telling me that they will keep this on my credit report until it is paid in full. Which is $158. This is stemming from an old medical bill from 2003. What should I do now?

Posted this statement on another question and it got me to thinking.... Other than for moral reasons, WHY should a person pay a company money for a debt that is not initially theirs? A company BUYS a debt from another company.... it just doesn't seem right that a person should have to pay someone that the money was not initially owed to.
