Does it really make sense to send a letter revoking authorization to debit your cking acct even when the acct is closed. Since this is the case, would you wait until the emails and calls start coming in and then send a letter or should it be sent before the debits are scheduled. Thanks sitting on edge - June 15 is "D" day!

I posted this in another thread, but perhaps it deserves its' own topic. I called Discover Card to tell them that I know they have been offering people settlements as low as 40% and that I was willing to pay them $1000 today if they would consider my account paid in full after that. (I owe $2400 total.) They said that my account is not eligible for a settlement, and the operator said, "Why do you want a settlement? Why don't you just want to pay it off?" I politely explained that when you are having financial difficulty, paying it off for 40% of what you owe could be a God-send.

these people called me threatning to have me "dealt with". I took out a payday loan and I had internet fraud on my bank account. I had to close my account and open a new one, I ended up having to default on my loan. Now they are saying that I purposely defrauded the lender. does anybody have advice on this matter?

I have about 4 loans out and I will like to know if there is a company that will consolidate these loans for me into one bill.

This guy left me a message to call him back with this phone # 888-355-7515. When I called it was Asset Management Professionals and he wanted to collect on a BOA Visa card that I haven't had since 2001 (according to him). He said that the balance owed was $2,200. I told him that I didn't recall having that much limit on my cards and he told me that it was probably fees added to the last balance. I kept asking him when was the last activity on the account and he kept repeating April, 2001 and I told him that the SOL had expired because I am in Florida and the SOL is 5 years.

Do these payday loans actually affect your credit score?

I have been having bad financial problems. I was just recently going through a garnishment for my student loans and it knocked me down hard so I had to turn to payday loans. I want out I am finally through with the garnishment problem but now i have this other issue PAYDAY LOAN!!!!! HELP how do I consolidate them or get help

I have sent Cash Today my pdl letter stating I overpaid per my state's laws. I am in Kentucky. Internet pdl's are illegal. I paid $320.00 on a $200.00 loan. I told them they owe me $84.70. They called me (even though I sent numerous cease & desist letters) and I spoke w/a customer service rep (who I could hardly understand) who kept insisting they are based in the UK and I accepted their terms & conditions. He offered to "settle" by me paying $100.00 and they would mark it PIF. I argued I already paid $320.00 - so I would then be paying $420.00 on a $200.00 loan!

Hope you all don't mind, but since I have been talking about my son's graduation, thought I would share some pictures with you. May be a few posts with pixs, but guess you could say, I am a proud mom!
