Hello, I have a question concearning how to deal with paying a settlement to United Recovery Service...or whether I should do this at all. First, my wife and I had a Bank of America Visa account that got "charged off" according to the people I talked to at Bank of America. B of A told me that i would have to deal directly with United Recovery Service and gave me their number. I contacted an agent at URS and they began negotiating how much and when I could make payments on this account.

Attorney sent validation request on May 20, no response. At the end of May the CA reported this alleged account to the Credit Reporting Agencies. Date reported is 5/07 and Date Major Deliquency First Reported is also 5/07. Type of account: Open It is my understanding that this activity is illegal. Does anyone know the specific statute my attorney can site in his next letter. This alleged debt would be past SOL because it is not on my report.

Has anyone had a great experience with a debt settlement company, like DTS? We joined the program a month ago and I have been a nervous wreck since. I keep thinking that we will be sued but the company says less than 3% of clients get sued and they are usually the ones that were quite delinquent when they joined. Even with a lawsuit, the creditors will settle, I am told. How come I have already read several comments from people being sued here? I feel another sleepless night coming...

I have alot of medical bills ahat accumalated due to the absence of the insurance that didnt pay. Memorial Hosipital not sure of the exac number but around $700 Verizion Wireless bought a phone for a family member ran the bill up to $1700. I bought a phone for my mom discontinued the service with them and they say I owe I think $600. I lost my job in March of 2006 and my bank I had at the time USAA and I also had a credit card wit them I really dont no the total of that but I did receive a letter in the mail sayn I owed $670

I was previously with Town & Country working to get my credit cards payed off. I hit a few bumps and fell behind on payments with them. Currently I am in around 9000-10000 in credit card debt. Several of my cards have been handed off to collection agencies. I will have a steady job starting next week. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good nonprofit consolidation company that i can work with to get my credit cards back on track. Also is there a way for me to get my credit cards back to the original creditor do i pretty much pay the collection agencies for those? please let me know.

A company called west assett management is calling me for my husbands medical bills 1 from 1998 and 1 from 2003- I have asked tham not to call she has informed me that even after that she can call me every 2-3 days whether I like it or not! I have said ITHOUGHT the SOL was up on this in Florida and she said that does not apply to medical depts Is this right ?
