So I used to have pretty good credit and a pretty good job. It all went to hell in 2000, when I got a blood clot stuck in my left main and had to have open-heart surgery for the low low cost of only $63,000. No insurance, etc, so I just didn't pay. Being young and dumb, I knew my credit was shot so I let all my cards and what not go as well. After the hospital wrote off the surgery, I only had about 15,000 left in debt from the doctors and follow up visits and stuff. I have been in collections with bill collectors calling for the past few years.
