Has anyone survived a summons that is in a debt settlement company? I don't know the first thing about it. I don't know if they will make payment arrangements or go strait to my check for garnishment. I don't have a spare dime to spare, since I am in the debt settlement company. Surely the judge will rule in my favor and rule out a judgment. I am taking a copy of the BBB record of my debt settlment company with us to court, if it goes to court. Someone told me that they probably pulled our assets and saw that we had nothing and decided that we were not worth the hassle.

What collection agency uses this phone number - 800-220-1622 and what kind of debts do they collect? When they called me, they wouldn't disclose who they were, so I hung up! Creeps...

Just wanted to verify what the staute of limitations is in florida for credit cards. I have searched the forums and see both 4 yrs and 5 yrs stated. Which is as of 2007? Also, are there any sol sample letters to in regards to summons? Should it be combine with validation or what? (composing letters as we speak and going to mail them today)

This is just what I am currently experiencing and I hope that what I have learned and can pass along will be of help to any others experiencing a similar situation. 1.Contact 1-800-4fedaid and find out exactly who is actually holding your loans. 2. Call all of the collection angencies and request a Loan Discharge Application: Total and Permanent Disability form. Now when I contacted NCO who is representing and collecting for DOE I was originally informed that I would have only 45 days from the time that I recieved the form to get it filled out and also have my Dr. complete his portion.

ok this a about a freinds credit report. she filed a chapter7 and was discharged. she had accounts with lerner lane bryant and ect. after checking her report it is showing the lerner account as a charge off, with a payment of 10 dollars. she hasnt paid anything since bankruptcy. she sent a dispute to the credit reporting companies and they said it was verified she had even sent her discharge papers. what can she do now as this account was in i think 98. but it shows a recent payment so that renewed it for another seven yrs.
