I've been reading several posts about pdl's for the last 2 hours of so and it has been so overwhelming I hope that someone can help me, too. I have sent several dispute letters to collection accounts that are not mine appearing on my credit report. Per the bureau they were verified, so I in turn wrote letters to the collection agencies requesting validation by means of a signed contract,etc and cited the fair debt collection practices act. These companies simply send me a statement on their letterhead with an amount owed and that they have reported the accounts as disputed to the bureaus. I do not understand how they can allow these things to remain on my report.

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for advise on how to handle a default judgement. I had been in what seemed like a hopeless situation of $70-$80 per month overlimit and late fees. I would pay on time and next month and there was still a late fee because "the date you paid was in the next billing period". With things obviously not working I basically abandoned my credit and struggled to pay tuition and go to college. I graduate with my 2 yr degree next week and want to take care of the old debts. I have a default judgement which I was never served for. It's for 3 times the amount I originally owed.

Hello, I've received another letter from northland group Inc. requesting money. I received my Transunion credit report and no information is on it from LVNV nor Northland. A letter was written by a consumer at Watch List Submissions from Consumers and they get communications from Northland Group as well without anything showing up on their credit reports. I am going to wait for my other two reports and see if anything appears on them. I was given May 31st as the day my first payment is due.

Early this year I disputed a listing by this company on my credit file for a cell phone that I do not believe is mine. Per the verification (whatever that is) it was stated as verified. I then wrote a letter to asset acceptance asking for a copy of the signed contract for this collection account. I instead got a bill on their letterhead with Sprint PCS and an account number on it. I wrote them back and sent it certified mail only to get the same thing in response to my letter again asking for a signed contract for validation.

Ugh. That's how I feel. I am sitting here with my head spinning with all of the information I have to absorb to get my family on our feet. Actually, when I look at it from a different perspective, we aren't that bad off. No credit card debt, no foreclosures, no repos. But we do have debt. I have student loan debt on an education that I had to stop. We have medical debt. I just don't know where to start to fix everything. We are a family of seven. A lot of kids, blended family. Budgeting is difficult - with that many children, unexpected expenses are almost expected!

I have a hit on my credit report from American Collection "Se" ,I am assuming it is Services...does anyone know who this is? I apparently owe money and don't know who to address to contest it.
