i live in Maine. I have used payday loans since 2003 since my husband was out of work due to an accident. I have never been able to pay these offand have been rolling them over. Like bewildered, I would just like to know how to get rid of these loans once and for all and improve my credit score...hopefully DCC will help

I'm just about to get married and my fiance and I are interested in consolidating our debt. We would like to be able to get a loan that we could pay off everything and be out of debt in, at the most, five years. We currently pay over $800 a month just on our credit card bills and know we could take on a loan payment. How can we go about finding a lender that can give us the amount we'ld like and a lender that's credible?

I have faithfully been paying AmEx $2500 per month for several years on a $40,000 debt that a family member rung up. I just lost my job and cannot keep making these payments. Criminal charges are NOT an option. I am also going to grad school next year, need student loans, and cannot afford to have my credit record ruined and/or tarnsihed in any manner. What are my options in terms of reducing my payment and/or potentially settling? Who at AmEx would I speak to about this. I'm 23.

Checking account frozen by creditor. It is an account used for ssd payments. I realize these govt. Funds cannot be touched by anyone else. This is my only income. Unknowingly i have also used it for other purposes besides paying bills, namely some deposits which i Now find out they can grab. This is not even my money. I was handling some finances for my elderly mother. Can i stop my money from being taken? What are my options legally or otherwise?

I was just wanting to post about this ?agency? They called my husbands work about a month ago stating that he was an attorney, Mr. Bernstein, and that we had until 5pm to give them a check by phone or else there would be a warrant out for his arrest. All of this because of a credit card from at least 5 years ago, and almost positive that it was paid off. Needing a clean record for his job, we gave them the check by phone:( Luckily, I didnt feel right about this and did some research. We did stop the check.
