Hello, I have two questions. Can they garnish my wages for an old bill before my court date which is in January 2013. They started garnishing me a month ago. I have been working with lexington law firm. Midling funding has been removed from all three of my credit accounts. Transunion and the other two. Can I sue them for haraishment and to get my wages back.

I just received a summons from Forster & Garbus delivered to my doorstep. They tell me I have 20 days to respond. At this point, can I respond with an offer to settle or is it too late?? How am I suppose to respond anyway? No court date was given. They are collecting for Macy's Visa BTW.:(

I have a judgement against that was filed by an attorney for capital one credit , when I called to settle they no longer had the debt and it had since been bought by Michael j Scott in Texas. I will mention the first attorney Frederick j Hanna is in Georgia where I was living at the time. I then moved to tx and I guess that's why micheal Scott got it. I have now moved back to Georgia. I paid the settlement to micheal Scott and they released the Lein to the court in TX (which I had no idea about).

Friend of mine received a call looking for me and to verify my employment. Found out they contacted the Chamber of Comm. of the city I use to live it and go personal cell phone number. I never worked for this person. Now they are harrassing them at their place of employment after being told not to call personal cell phone again. How do they get such wrong information?

First I want to thank everyone for all the good information on this forum, it has really helped me out. I started with four online payday loans and found out on this site that they are all illegal in north carolina. I followed the steps outlined and have received two pif from two of the lenders, However, plain green loans and one click cash, both of which have been paid more than the principle owed over three loans, have both responded that they would settle for the principle remaining on the current loan but will not credit overpayment on previous loans because they were seperate contracts.

PLEASE list payday lenders not legal in california.

Can anyone tell me how to find a list of who is licensed and unlicensed in to do business in the state of NJ? How do the NJ payday loan laws apply to internet payday loans? I am dealing with a few companies and upon finding the NJ Payday loan laws, I tried to pay off one of my loans and the company tried to charge me the full finance fee - I mentioned that in the state of NJ, I am held to 30% interest/finance fee and since I am paying the loan off before the due date that they rate should be cheaper.

I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience with defaulting on installment loans, not just payday loans. All my loans are legal. I'm at the point where I'm just ready to say "F It" and let everything default. I have my payday loans set up on EPP programs and I just started the default process with Check N Go, will officially start missing payments on my payday tomorrow (I have to be 60 days past due AT LEAST for them to send it to collections. I've tried having corporate pull the file but they can't).
