Hope someone can give me some advice. I have a credit card debt to Discover. Last week I received a letter from Capital Management Services telling me that they have been engaged by Discover to collect a $8,000 debt. I called up Discover today to see if I can negotiate payment with them directly. However, they told me that I had to set up payment with Capital since they have a contract with them. I don't trust Capital Mangement from the stuff I've been reading on this forum. Has anyone have any past experience with this compnay? I know that someone will tell me to do debt validation.

Sent them emails for the last two weeks because I have overpaid them about $200. In the emails I let them know that I just wanted my account to be marked paid in full - no refund - I just wanted them out of my hair. Finally today - I got their answer... Yeah! Another one down.... :D

Once I became a moderator,no one ever told me how I was supposed to edit or delete or lock postings? And am I able to do that only in a forum I moderate?

I recently had a large repair/remodeling job done in our home. The work was very shoddy and after repeated attempts to fix the problems, DH and I gave up and asked them not to return to our home. The last time the owner of the company was here, he tried to blame a very crooked doorway on a crooked ceiling that was actually level. Anyhow, I really don't feel that I should have to pay the entire amount they charged us due to the fact that DH is having to fix the mistakes that they refused to acknowledge existence of. How can I go about settling this or am I being unreasonable?

Has anyone used American Financial Services for debt settlement ?

I am in need of a debt consolidation loan and i do not have good credit. I need to pay off 3500 dollars in bills to have peace of mind. I do not have the luxury of a home or a car thats paid off for collateral and i am a single mom with too many installment payments. Who takes chances on people, i have had a car note that has never been late once in three years and i have the ability to make one loan payment a month but cannot find help I need so i can sleep at night.

I decided to try and fight my pdls on my own without an agency at least for awhile. It appears none are licensed in California and California doesn't allow rollovers. I have paid more than the principle on all except two of them. I told each pdl that I would only respond via email and/or USPS. Only one has responded. I believe it is because I am current on all the loans. I have put a hold on all my ACH withdrawals from my bank. I can't close my account because I am overdrawn. I have been able to take these steps because of all the great info. I received on this site...thank you.
