What does charge off mean on your credit report, when you have paid off the bill, how can it be removed

Hi there. I am dealing with the awful company on a payday loan I received almost three months ago. I have paid them back $140 towards a $200 loan. I got fed up over the charges and found out that they are charging me illegal fees. I closed my banking account and opened up another they cannot touch. I tried sending them a letter to verify the debt and give me a balance, but it was returned. I am from Michigan and they are not licensed in my state. Now they are calling me all the time, also trying to talk to my boss.

how to not allow for any fee to be charged to my checking account, and stop any business with this company

I live in california and have some old debt still on my record. There are still outstanding balances on them. What is the law on how long they have to collect and does that date start on the day I signed up for the account or the day it became dilequint?? Need some help thanks.

Hi: I had a payday loan out with 500fastcash and way overpaid them by $600.00. I called my bank to stop them from withdrawling from my checking acount and fax 500fastcash the template letter from Polly's blog saying to stop debiting and the they are illegal in my state..basically everything that needed to be said. Anyway, today they sent through some kind of sneaky check for $545.00. What should I do? thanks

Glad you are doing well with mezey the liars from new york....i was in the program since 8/06 paid all my setup fee's and sent extra money. Out of the four debts that i had i settled two of them myself.i am still trying to get my money from my reserve account.everytime i call it's a different amount.. This is the biggest mismanaged rudness company i have ever been with..never can get anyone to return my calls.... :roll:

After pulling my CR's back in January, I noticed a CA called afni that said I owed Charter a whapping 75. On 2/12/07, I sent a validation letter. Today, as of 3/30 I still have not received anything. The only thing I received from them was the USPS receipt (It was sent certified/Return Receipt). Any suggestions? Another question. Also on my CR's, there's one from Medicol - a medical CA based in Greenville, SC. The first delinquency is 4/2000 - so obviously the SOL has expired.

I just had to say how happy I am that today is Friday!!!!! I have got less than 2 hours and it will be time to go home! Been a long week. Too bad my husband has to work all weekend, I am ready for an evening out and a couple of drinks! Yes, I know I said I was a lightweight, but the past few weeks have been H-E-DOUBLE HOCKY STICKS and just need a change of routine. Anyone want to come to NC and hang out??? 8)
