I just got a very threatening phone call from LMP saying that if I don't pay my debt (returned check) to ACE Cash Express TODAY, they will take legal action. I have not gotten a letter from them previous to this. Aren't they supposed to send certified mail requesting payment before they threaten me on the phone? Aren't they supposed to give me a reasonable amount of time to pay. The original payday loan was for $1,000 and they are charging me a total of $1293.99. Can they file suit against me today? What can they do?

Wonder what the best approah is to consolidating a personaly line of credit with credit card debt, all of which carry high interest.

How safe is using a credit card? If someone comes to know my credit card number then they can do a lot of online transactions putting me to debt. So how can I can play safe with credit cards.

I was in contact with a debt management company that has their headquarters in Phoenix, about a year ago, but then decided a debt management program was not for me. I would love to find them again, as many clients that come through my business used to always recommend them when I would ask for referals.

Has anyone ever gotten a check made out to you for $ 3.25.......but to cash it you have to put your credit card number on the back? I try to read as many threads off this board that I can...when someone starts a post about a PDL company, generally the first thing said back is to see if they are legally licensed in their state. Why is this asked? (I guess I'm not following, because it then goes on to talk about offering settlements, etc.) If a company is not licensed to practice in your home state, then why wouldn't they void out the payday loan, as the loan was illegal? Or, even though it was illegal does one still atleast owe the original loan amount? I guess I am kind of lost and need some more guidance. Thank you.
