This is going to be interesting19 years ago Well, in addition to my other problem (no news there), I have found myself in a really interesting situation. On Friday I received a call at work. At first I thought it was one of my customers, but after a few confusing seconds I realized I was talking to a collection agency called FNR (If I recall this is the correct name, I wrote it down at work).
Calls for someone other than me what do I do?19 years ago I am getting calls from Paragon Way and Asset Acceptance for a person with a same last name (it is a VERY common last name) but a VERY different first name. They leave messages on my answering machine, i have never returned a call. Asset Acceptance says that just by listening the the message on MY answering machine I am claiming to be the person they are calling for. What do I do.....keep ignoring them? I have no past due debts.
Debt reduction19 years ago Are the companies that charge a fee to reduce debt worth the fees they charge? I'm hearing 15 percent of total debt represented. Thanks
Hubby Received Letter From Lawyer Re Beneficial19 years ago Well, it's been one of those days. Today in the mail my husband received a letter from a lawyer who is representing his second mortgage with Beneficial. As you may recall, this is on his plan with Consumer credit counseling. Yes, we do have a signed proposal from the local Beneficial office saying they would accept the monthly proposal and husband has made all of his payments. I made sure of this when he first signed up with the program. It says we can dispute the debt but should we let CCCS dispute the debt on our behalf? It also states that we will probably get papers for the court.

Collectors for Sprint PCS19 years ago I am tring to offer help to my cousin who is a single mom. The only thing she has on her credit is a problem with progressive ins co. We actually disputed it and have yet to hear about it (she didn't even drive when the debt was made). Now a CA is calling about a sprint bill she hasn't paid for a while now. They are actually calling her parent's house. I told her to send the DV and then her parent's should send a cease and desist letter. When the calls come, they are automated and say that if you are the person, hold on over and over again. After 5 min there is still no one there?
