I spoke with a memeber of the forum last night after I signed up on this website. She answered my questions and I thought she was helpful. My main concern is this: I have about 25K in 2 credit cards, I have never been late, and always paid on time. She said that it would take 90 days before these account would go into a "charged off" status, and I think it will take a much longer time then that. I think I want to try to negioate with the 2 CC companies myself and see where I get and keep myself current instead of defaulting.

If I was to enroll in a debt consolidation program would Americash & All Credit Lenders still be able to garnish my wages? I did send the Letters of Revocation re: Wage Garnishment via certified mail, and gave copies to my payroll (I also told them not to Garnish my Wages without court order. But these two companies are liscensed to do these types of installment loans in Illinois, and these loans offer little or no protection under the PLRA. If they start wacking my paycheck I'm in big trouble. Any advice?

Need a debt consolidation firm located in San Jose, CA. I have debt around $20,000-ish from 6 various accounts. I finally was able to find work and now that I have money would like to pay back the money. Some accounts have gone to collections agency, would like a debt consolidation firm that are able to help me deal with them.

Last year I got a deal from a CA about my student loans. I know that I owe them although they had been on deferment. When I called to make arrangements with the guy, he said his company sent the loan back to the state collectors and gave me a number for higher education. I called them and made a payment to keep them from collecting my income tax return and then they sent me a form to fill out to get on a payment plan. I finally got it in the mail a few weeks ago (from Nov). It was pretty mutilated. I called the guy and left a message that I would need a new one and to call me.
