I owe over $10K on a credit card. I have a steady job and am paying the minimum payment, it is all I can affort. The finance charges are so high that I am not making any progress. What options do I have for obtaining a loan to pay off the card. I rent and have no assets.

I realize it is harder to file bankruptcy now than ever before, however, it's something we have tried hard to avoid, but I'm wondering if it may be a better option for us. We have roughly 52,000 in unsecured debt. Last April we signed a contract with a debt settlement Company to handle our accounts. We have already paid them about $5,000 of the $8,000 we will be paying them. We stopped paying all of our debt last April/May and instead have been putting our monthly payment an Escrow Account, which currently holds about $1200 (the rest has gone to their fees).

I want to go to school but I can't apply for any assistence because I owe so much.

How can i become a saint?

has anyone had to deal with them? I had a loan and it went into collections due to my bank account being changed bc of fraud... With it being over the holidays I changed all my loans but this one got lost in the shuffle.. I KNOW I KNOW no execuse. I want to rectify this but of course its the worse time financially for me.. They called demanding to speak to my lawyer and called other friends of mine to. I am willing to pay I just dont know what kind of settlement and what I can pay. Any Advise?

Does a debt collection company have the right to call family members in the state of IL? I never gave them my families telephone numbers....

Someone by the name of Karen called me from BDM processing,stating that someone will be on their way to my work for processing,whatever that means.I asked her what processing is,and she said dont play dumb,that i know what processing is.She said that I owe money,to whatever pay day loan company is,she didnt say.I then told her hat I will go do my taxes today and will have money to pay.She said it will be too late,that I have to pay her immediately,for the amount of 1083 dollars.I didnt even take out the loan for that much!It was a 200 dollar loan,now I have to pay triple or more?So I called he

Cashnet500(Global Payday) called my husband regarding the letter that we sent and faxed to them in which for a $300 pdl they started debiting the acct, for $90 every two weeks since 8/11/2006 resulting in an overpayment of $780. A Mr. Anthony called my husband at work and told him that they were in Utah and that they are not a "brick and mortar" and that they were not going to refund because they are not subject to the Florida law. My husband mentioned something about "Interstate Business" and that he (husband) was going to get his $$ one way or another. Mr Anthony hanged up. What can I do?

Has anyone dealt with this company before? I received a statement saying I owe for a BMG account, but I don't remember having an account with them.
