This question is on behalf of my girlfriend. She has about a little less than $15K in debt and wanted to go back to school to finish the less than 2 years she has left to get her degree. She works full time as well but with her debt she has no funds to pay for school. She tried to get a loan for $25K through wells fargo so she can pay her debt off and pay for school but she got denied. Are there any other options outthere for her? She'd like to not have to get a cosigner if possible.

This question is on behalf of my sister. Is it better to get a student loan through a bank or through school? Being a full-time student and having a part-time job, she got into debt and hasn't been able to pay the minimums on her cards. Will this play a part on her getting the loan? Help! I 've read some posts about Asset Acceptance before I am posting this for desparate help. Although I know I owed some credit card debts a few years ago from Texas, now I am in California and suddently received a court summon from an attorney's office representing Asset Acceptance for 2 accounts totalling some $13,xxx.
