This is for my girlfriend After going through a rough divorce where she left leaving everything to her husband she found herslef with no money and no job. Bills and debt quickly piled up and she owes 11,000 on credit card and to add insult was scammed through the internet when whe went to sell her ring for 2,500. She is looking for work but is not sure how she will even pay for the gas. She has many professional computer skills and hopes to find work soon being the new year. What can she do.

one of my debt collection agency is not accepting a loware payment not at least for next three to four months.. insted they are theatnign me... last week they tols me one of their field collector will visit me and today they call me and they saying if i dont pay the full balance they would send the ballif out to my plae.. please advice ASAP wha ti need to do

I spoke to allied interstate on the phone the man was very rude and insisted I give him my checking account and routing number for a payment, I told him I would mail a payment, that I did not like to give out my bank information, he said "so, you are refusing to pay then" I said no, I will mail the payment, he refused to give me their address and said it would cost too much money to send another letter out, I never received the first one from them, yes I do owe money, but my husband was out of work for a while and I tried to explain this to him, and then after they have called at least 6 to 7

I just came upon this website when searching for debt consolidation. I guess I need some advice on what to do. I have about $7,000 of credit card debt. I have alwaysmade or exceded my min payments but they are still pretty high and I feel like I'm not making any progress. I have used payday loans twice and realized what a scam it is. My credit is decent (never had any problems getting cards) and I have had an account with the same bank for a number of years. I don't own a home.

I just received a letter from a collection agency regarding an NSF check. Standard letter it looks like. But this is the part that sounds like a violation of the fdcpa in which I can tell this CA to go packing.. Here is what is written in the letter verbatim: I don't think they can threaten someone with criminal charges especially when this is a civil matter. Is that statement in their letter illegal?

How to I get a hold of a cease and desit letter and a debt validaition letter to send to a company.

I had a loan with Geneva Roth that I defaulted on. They tried to collect from my account under the name of Geneva Roth and I disputed the charge with my bank...this morning, I found that they took 2 debits under the name check recovery checks. Does anyone know if this is really Geneva Roth? The amounts are the same which made me wonder... Thanks!
