I live in Texas and received a phone call from NES this morning about about a $3233 debt from a credit card company (Sears). I do owe the debt b/c I forgot about it (I have clinical depression and forget to pay bills sometimes...(an excuse, I know, but it's true.) I have not received any notification about this collection agency, but the person I talked to said they've been sending me stuff in the mail. They also called a work phone # that I haven't had in 3 years.

Yet another problem with this company. I closed the original account where they made deposits and withdawals to. I have 2 other accounts joint with other people. Now, this company has gone into one of those accounts and took $590!!! Can they do this? I never ever game them authorization to go into that account, they wouldn't even have a copy of a cancelled check or anything. The money they took wasn't even mine. I have filed a dispute with the bank but it will take a few days to even get it back into the account.

A few years ago I had outstanding credit while being in the military, after getting out a lot of bills didn't follow me. Years continued to pass me by then suddenly I was being hit with constant calls and threats from debtors I didn't remember having. I decided to make amends then was involved in an auto mobile accident that left me unable to work for approximately 6-9 months. Thus adding even more debt, hospital bills etc. I have since made several attempts to make payment arrangement with certain companies, yet it seems as though I am making no headway what so ever.

Hi, My wife recently began receiving phone calls from asset acceptance llc regarding a debt we have no idea about. We then received a letter stating the same accusation made by the person who called. In response, I sent a letter requesting "debt validation", which I've used in a similar situation for myself with another collection scam. Asset Acceptance LLC responded by letter with a one page "Account Statement" that lists my wife's name, amount owed, interest accumulated, and balance owed.

Has anyone had experiences with Credigy and MRS associates? I would like to hear about them. Are these companies related? Thanks.
