I have just found out that a company I do a lot of work for has not payed me £1500 from 18 months ago. they now say they never got my invoice and there not paying. can they do this. I am self employed

I recieved a letter from First National Collection Bureau, Inc. which states that they are trying to collect $87.37 for an old Fashion Bug account and includes the account #. I don't know if I should pay the account or not since this account is 10 years old and not on my credit report anymore?

Is a thorn in my side. My problem is a check that I wrote. I haven't paid it yet. They were such jack***es about it when they called. Somebody tell me what do I do from here? being young and stupid thinking i could afford to pay for all these thing but i cant now that i have a child on the way. i currently was sued by a payday advance company and currently have a new lawsuit from a credit card company it seem like they all hit at once i make good money thats the sad part but just cant pay it all off and start with one easy payment or even none!
