I recently defaulted on a loan with Cashnet500. I got a call this morning on both my cell phone and work phone with a message that "I know why they are calling" and that " I better call them back before 5pm or they would file". I called them back and told them I was filing chapter 7 bk, and that they would be hearing from my lawyer. Their reply? "WE WILL FIGHT YOUR BK AND HAVE YOU CHARGED WITH FRAUD!" I couldn't believe the nerve! This company is vicious and rude. I had to repeat my name several times during my conversation, and he even accused me of giving him a fake name!

okay so I sent in a dispute letter to the CA asking for proof of a debt. It's my wife's account and I know it's valid, however the CC she had 4 years ago was cut up and sent back with only 400 in charges. they letter from the CA was for around 5500. So we sent in the letter and all they sent back was a statement from the CA showing that the CC had a princp of 4000 and interest of 1500. What are they required to send as proof. I'm guessing an invoice from the CA isn't proof.

I have been contacted by a company that says they are collecting the remaining balance on the debts. If the original creditor settled for a lesser amount, how is there a balance? Can they do this? I pray for those of us in debt" I think that is a great thing to do. We know that there are many who got into this debt (for many reasons) and are under immense pressure.
