An old employer of mine sent me a bill a couple months after my resignation. The "misc. charges" add up to over $9600.00. An alarming amount considering that during the one and a half years of this commission-based job I only made approx $20,000 total! At first I thought he was just trying to get back at me for leaving the company. This alleged debt is totally ungrounded. A few months after that I received a letter from a colection agency. Over the course of the next 5.5 months I repeatedly asked them for proof of this debt, and they could not come up with any.

i am in similar situation here in texas ....drowning in pdl ....i have already closed my acct and opened new one ....waiting for the vulchers to close in now ....any advice that anyone has would be much appreciated ....i don't know what pdl laws are in texas ...i do know that texas does pretty much what they want when it comes to law .....anyway...i am concerned about this because i live on ssd and can not ..well just got in over my head on this and need time to repay them....i am at my wits end ... what do i do next ???

I'm about $6000 in debt with credit cards and storefront payday loans. The storefronts will not work out a payment arrangement. I feel that the only way to be protected is filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy. What should I do?

I have 4 outstanding PDL's right now - one storefront and 3 online. I have had to close my bank account in order to regain my direct deposit paycheck, which was being eaten up by the fees on these loans. I want to repay them, but I am finding they are difficult to work with - demanding a certain dollar amount every paycheck, which I cannot afford. Is it possible to make them accept a small payment every paycheck until the loan is paid in full?

I just received a call from FNCB stating that my wife owes $259.47 towards a debt that we thought was cleared. This has been open since 1997 according to FNCB. This debt has a $0 balance on my wife's credit report and does not show negatively towards her credit score. Are we obligated to pay this even though it has been cleared? Will it effect her credit if we blow it off? She also stated that they have a special going on for 1 day only and all we have to pay is $129.73 and we would be clear. I live in NC and our SOL is 7 years. Can someone please advise?

has anyone dealt with these guys? they are appearing on my Teletrack report since June 2006. Who are they and how do I get this information removed from my report? I am not doing any business with them. They also appear as Direct Financial Solutions of California as the parent company. I have tryed to email their complaint email but it bounces back. Who regulates these loan companies that do online lending?
