I had some trouble getting started in the world....and i ended up having some serious car problems....which started my debt...but from there trying to pay bills was pretty hard. I was recently laid off from both of my jobs and now have no way to make payments on my debts...i am currently looking for jobs...but the creditors wont stop calling me.

i need to consolidate my student loan,car loan,credit card loan and some personal loans. please let me know if you can help me. i am going on alomost 3 months behind.

I would like some names of companies that offer debt settlement or consolidation for storefront payday lenders.

A lawyer/ really a CA- sent me a certified letter about an agreed judgement. The case is set for "trial on merits" in December. I answered the original complaint, but can't afford a lawyer for the trial. (it is just in a JP court) My question: what is an agreed judgement? Does that mean that I concede I owe them and we work out a payment arrangement? I think it would still go on my CR as a judgement. I am planning on fighting becasue some of the charges were disputed - but fear I will lose because they filed the suit 2 days before the 4 year SOL had expired. Advice???

Just some words of advice from one who has been to debt hell and back, do not give out banking information and do not give out phone #'s. If they already have this information, close you bank account and open a new one and get your number changed to an unlisted phone #. In the world of credit/debt be VERY careful about who you give personal information out to it's way too easy for someone to get their hand in your cookie jar these days.

I am thankful to be living in California because of the laws that this state has. I would say it’s mostly stupid little debt like blockbuster, phone bills and inquires have screwed my credit a bit too. Sometimes to make my self feel better I say I’m only 21. I have plenty of time. How can you see if a Automible Title Loan company is legal. I have been paying $168.17 for the last five months and NONE of it goes to the princple which is $749.00. This company is similar to the Pay Day loan comapanies.
