My Problem

18 years 10 months ago
I’m a single mother, trying to give my son the best. My employer cut my hours, and I can’t even pay the bills. I have two Payday Installment loans, and a Car title loan two. Just trying to pay my bill, I pay minimum balance just to keep everything on. I have one credit card, which that is maxed out, and I cant even pay on that cause I don’t make enough, I cant afford to quite my job but I am looking for another job. I have 1 large medical bill. I go day by day hoping it will get better but it is not. I’m hoping someone can help me.

Got a call from a collection agency on a loan I didn't make

18 years 10 months ago
Hello, first time poster, found this site while doing a search for the 800 number that the collection agency gave me. Got a call from a guy today that worked for "FMS" (tel # 800-580-7611), asking for me by name, and he had my DOB and SSN. Apparently, a "500 Fast Cash One-Click Loan" in the amount of $600 had been taken by someone using my information about a year and a half ago. The only other information he had about me was a ficticious place of employment. I explained to him that I've never made a loan of any sort, and he said he would send out a 'dispute form' to me.

Arbitration agreement: written contract or open account?

18 years 10 months ago
Question on Arbitration: Is an arbitration agreement considered a written contract? Credit cards are typically seen as open accounts, but federal law on arbitration agreements seem to equate these with written contracts. Any opinions on this?

Hopefully helpful info

Hi I am basically computer illiterate. I tried to go to the testimonials section but when I tried to select and copy and paste, like it said to do, it selected everything on the whole page. I am not gonna put up a photo as I don't allow photos to be taken of me as I am fat and ugly. That said, I just wanted to say that my husband and i got in deep trouble about 5 years ago.He was laid off and then I was and then well we got into substances to alleviate our pain and there the money went. We are both clean and sober (whew!) and we made deals with all the companies we owed money to.

G E Moore trouble

18 years 10 months ago
I recieved a call from the law offices of Gerald E. Moore a little while ago. "Rod" told me who he worked for and that he'd been trying to contact me. He then went on to tell me that I owed $1094 on an old Cap. one account and that I was required to pay in full. I told him that I couldn't, but that I would be able to set up a payment plan. He blew that off and offered a settlement of an undisclosed amount if I payed in 2 weeks. I said I didn't think I could come up with enough to satisfy him, then offered a payment plan again.

business costs

18 years 10 months ago
I started a business when I got back from Iraq. I took some loans to purchase equipment. They total about 30k. I just got a statement in the mail, from my local bank, that the interest went up to 24.99%. I need to consolidate the loan and credit cards into one payment with low interest. ~Greg

Payday Loan Laws May Be Suject To Constitutional Attack

18 years 10 months ago
There may be hope. An Alabama trial court struck down Alabama's PAwn Shop Interest Rate Under the Equal Protection Clause. The State trial court said that the law discriminated against other lenders who could not charge such large interest rates. This same Constitutional argument could be raised against every Pay Day Loand Law in the Country.
