I have a Capital One card in collections with a company called Nelson, Watson and they want me to pay $48 per week as it is in pre litigation status. I cannot afford this, what can I do? My husband has one with Citi and its in the same status and they want $119 per month, we can't afford that either. But we don't want to get sued. Any advise is appreciated!

When filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Fla and listing debts that have been listed as "chargeoffs", do I list the original creditor as listed on my credit report or do I have to find the CA that has the debt now?

Plain green has offered me a settlement to pay the remaining balance. The problem is they want me to start on August 24th and pay what is left on the principal in three $300 installments. I can't afford to do that. Should I counter offer their email and make it under my terms. Thanks

Hello All I'm new to this and just found out that Plain Green and Great Plains are illegal in Ohio.I currently have a loan out with both of them and i have closed my account and have stopped paying them.They have both contacted me by email saying I only have to pay the principal amount.The thing is in the past year (2011) I have had 5 payday loans with Plain Green and 3 with Great Plains. I looked through my account history and added all my payments plus intrests minus the principal amount and they owe me on each and every loan. How do you guys think I should approach this?

People from agencies keep calling me at work and I work in a office with multiple people and would not like to discuss anything over the phone with them. Several months back I had a company in Colorado harassing me about an unpaid portion of a payday loan from back in 2008. I live in Kentucky and it was an internet pay day loan through pay day one so obviously since it was not a store front the loan was never valid as in KY it is illegal to offer internet pay day lending. Now this morning I get a call from a Empire Asset Solutions out of New York stating that their is a civil lawsuit about to take place unless I take care of this with his office.
