My Story(?)

19 years 3 months ago
If you want to call it that...I've always had cc debt, and was making the minimums, but it really wasn't getting me anywhere. So I shopped around (a bit, but not too extensively) for a debt consolidation company. I'm working with Freedom Financial CCS (through CDS John Leaberry, P.A.) and have been with FFCCS since January 2006. It's been a bit bumpy, but for the most part is working ok. I pulled my report last night (I applied for a store cc, and got turned down a few weeks back) and found that I had three negative items.

started down the road

19 years 3 months ago
I just "started down the road" to PDL freedom. I contacted the Attorney General's office last week. They sent me a letter stating to send documents verifying information provided so they can contact LTS Collection Company/DMS Marketing on my behalf. I have been getting daily e-mails from LTS. Today's said they were going to start verifying my employment. I sent an e-mail back, stating that they are not licensed in this state and therefore the loan was void and that I "demand a refund" for payments received over principal amount (of course, I don't really expect this to happen).

PDLs in the State of MD

19 years 3 months ago
As I have seen from this board payday loans are illegal in the state of MD. I defaulted on 5 of them, and paid one off, though I have more than paid back the principle balance on all the loans in the finance fees. If that is the case, can I try to get back finance fees that were paid? I have one outstanding loan that I am paying on, but they don't apprear to be listed as licenced in MD, however they are in South Dakota (where they are based)...can I stop paying, as I have paid back the prinicple? The company is Tremont Financial? Thanks for all the great advice I have gotten so far.

I need debt consolidation

19 years 3 months ago
I first encountered a portion of my debt at a young age. I was 18 and had applied for a student loan in the amount of 2000, which I have deferred countless times due to financial difficulties and off and on schooling. I have probably paid over 1000 dollars to this debt but unfortunately the last two years I have been deliquent on my account due to a variety of personal circumstances which has led to missed payments and increased interest which now brings my student loan debt amount to 2700.00.

Low Credit Auto Loan

19 years 3 months ago
Hello I am new to the site and just have a question about an auto loan. I do not have perfect credit due to being laid off in the past but I am continuing to work on paying off the debts that are hurting my score. My last auto loan I had to use a co-signer which I really would like to avoid this time. I am currently going to have my auto loan paid off close to 2 years in advance by paying to the principle with no late payments which I am hoping will look quite a lot better to a loan office.
