I want to file a complaint with the state of Louisiana regarding payday loans via the internet and how I was being overcharged when state law said that I am suppose to be charged 16.75% in interest. HOwever, I am stumped on how to write the letter to go with the complaint. Can someone help me? Anyone have any copies of letters they sent to the state concerning payday loans?

I have been making settlement offers to a few collectors and/or accepting their settlement offers and they are ignored. I just keep getting the same form letter in the mail? Anyone have any thoughts? There must be a fdcpa rule that says they have to respond to you. Most didn't respond to my requests for additional info on the accouts.

Hello again, I sent a validation letter including a C+D. LVNV had been calling 4 and 5 times a day but stopped before they received my letter. My question is do they stop calling after their first letter is mailed out? I'm not complaining but wondering why they stopped calling all of a sudden. They called for about 4 days. I got the letter and then no more calls. I'm sure it's wishful thinking but hope they realized I've already paid Sherman. Thanks, Cathy

I recently have received a letter from a lawyer concerning a debt i had back in college. It went to collections almost 7 years ago. The letter stated that they were going to garnish my wages and put a restraining order on my bank accounts. I had sent the collection company a VOD letter and never received a response. Now my accounts are frozen and I am in a pickle. Had to hire a lawyer and it has been 2 wks with no access to my money. My sons child support along with my wages get directly deposited. What can I do. My lawyer is dragging his feet.

I'm scared to death. I've gotten myself into a bad situation that I'm not sure how to handle. I've taken out 2900.00 in payday loans with not really anyway to pay back. Any suggestions?

First this board has been a blessing to me and I appreciate all of your help. Ok going to give you the reader's digest version of a letter I sent to PayCheck Today just this afternoon. I took out a loan with them a couple of weeks for $300 with a $90 fee so far I have paid $90. Now I am not disputing paying them back but because I had to close my checking account due to other pdl's I proposed a solution to PayCheck Today. My letter stated Ohio's laws etc and that I am not avoiding paying them in anyway. I had asked to set up payment arrangements and where to send a money order too.

Hello all, I have about 10 PDLs. I closed my checking account and now I would like to know what steps I should take now. I don't want them to relentlessly call my work, but I am in no position to pay them anything yet. Any advice?
