Asset Acceptance was hassling me over an old debt that I don't even believe was mine. I sent them one validation letter, which they responded to with a BS one page 'Account Statement' that didn't tell me anything. I sent another letter, waited the 30 days, and they never contacted me. Now what do I do? How can I make sure this isn't going to pop up again? P.S. - Thanks for a great resource.

I have 5 PDL's that amount to @ $2000. What happens if I close that acct? Do they legal recourse against me? How can I settle with them? I want them to stop drafting and find someone who will pay them off and consolidate them into one payment. What is the best way to do this? Thanks, Melissa from Texas

I have a visa in which the interest rate just shot up to 28.9%. I have a good, steady job, I haven\'t used the card in over 2 yrs, and I have never sent in a payment late. I just can\'t afford these finance charges. What should I do?
