I want to get an opinion on letters i'm sending to my pdls, I read a post somewhere and somebody had success with them, a few listed are one's i'm dealing with now. I used the settlement template and added what was necessary for my state. just would like some opinions.I don't know how to post the letter. I took out all the personal info. Thanks!

How does debt consolidation work? I was under the impression that a single payment is made to the program each month and thus the program spreads the payment out to the creditors. I just recently spoke with Link deleted as per forum rules - Mike and basicaly the way they do it is a portion of the monthly payment is taken for their service fee while the rest sits in my savings account and accrues. Is this right???

I am 63 yr. old and my only income is from private disability insurance ($2,200/mn). My application for SS disability is in the 3rd appeal stage and may take another 9 months before a descision is reached. In a few months my wife and I will be moving from a rented house into a trailer on our daughters campground. At that time I may no longer be able to pay my $480/mn Credit card payments ($15,000 total). I had a chap 7 bankruptcy (med bills) 6 yrs ago, so I can't file for another one yet. Even with the bankruptcy, my credit score is 594 (only neg.s are the bankruptcy). My question is..

We had a mobile home financed with First Family back in the 90's. It was originally financed with Fleet Finance and then First Family. First Family released the lien when we had it refinanced with the land we put it on and sent us the title. We have sold this property and paid off the current lender who is Lendmark. The tax commissioner in the county where the home is located will not accept the title as it is. We need someone at First Family to contact us. Thank you

Last fall one of my charged off Sears CC accounts was sold, and placed with LNVN funding for collection. I requested validation of this debt within the 30 day fdcpa and NEVER got it. I haven't heard anymore from LNVN since, but they are reporting the amount owed on my credit report. Can they do that since they NEVER validated?? I don't understand how they are able to legally report negative information without first validating the debt.

I decided to call local storefront pdls to get more info. about the laws here in Ohio. They were all willing to talk to me and tell me the rates etc... I also learned from a few employees who shared with me they have gotten trapped in the internet pdl life. One told me I could come in today and get a pdl to pay off a few of my internet ones!!!!! I of course laughed and said "I don't think so." The one who is caught up in the internet pdl trap also said her friend is in the same situation. I thought it was interesting, and couldn't believe they would tell me their personal business.

I am seeking an agency that can aid me in eliminating my debt before my life is over. I have credit agencies that want more money than I have ever had my hands on with no promise of hope on ever getting close to paying it.
