$28,008 in Forgiven Debt

We had great credit. Credit card companies sent us offers. We filled them out and got the cards “just in case” we needed them. In 2003, my husband and I were $80,445.28 dollars in consumer debt – just credit cards and medical debt. I had come home after our second child was born. Bills started piling up gradually; without even realizing it we were over our head --- it just snuck up on us. We were so stressed out. We were starting to really lose hope, feeling like a slave to our bills. It became more and more difficult to make our bills.

Hoping to handle debt

To whom it may concern, We have a total of around 21,000 in debt right now. We're never late with payments, but we'd like to set up a plan to pay everything off in a given time limit and still put some away for our future. I'm in the military so we don't have any living expenses other than cable/internet and day care. We want to pay everything off in 24 months (if possible).

A short story about FYI

Growing up my parents paid cash for everything they have ever owned with the exception of a vehicle. I understood the value of a dollar but as I grew older the instant gratification of credit grew on me as I watched my friends parents pay for things with credit cards, especialy durring Christmas. I decided I was one day going to have credit cards and be able to get things instantly and not have to wait and save for them.

Correct me if I am wrong

Last year I had to take my son to the emergency room. I forgot his medicade card but was able to provide an insurance card in which he was also covered. I later faxed over the card to the hospital a day or two later and I didn't hear anyhting until I got a bill in the mail. Anyone who knows anything about medicade knows that you are told to disreguard the bill and continue on about your every day life. Which I did. A year later I was contacted by NCO saying they had the debt.

Payday loans busted!!!!!

Hey Guys The list is growing all of these companies will no longer be able to do business in WV. Payday Advance Plus Get Cash 911, Checks for Cash, Starlight Financial, AnyDay Cash, CNCFunding, Elite Cash Advance, Magnum Cash Advance, First American Cash Advance. There was only 1 storefront lender in this bunch, the rest are internet. So progress is being made. If you are in a state where there are already interest caps COMPLAIN!!!! The results are definately working when you have a state that will fight these criminals. KYSIDE38

My story....

I was 18 when I moved out from my family home. Of course at that age I thought I was grown up and a know it all. I got a few credit cards had a steady job, paid off bills, etc. Soon enough I had gotten really ill, to the point where it was life threatening. I desperately needed to admit myself into rehabilitation. After my recovery, my past had come to haunt me. And now, until this day from nearly 6 years ago, I am in a tremendous amount of debt. I can't get a credit card, I can't rent an apartment, nor even buy myself a car to drive.

PDL Balance Letters

I am trying to pay all my loans in full and they won't send me a letter or email or fax stating what I owe and that if I pay that amount that my account will be closed. Has this happened to anyone else? GFS said they could send me a letter only if I gave them my bank account info. Why the F*&#K would I do that. And then..... I signed up with T&C. I told them I was going to pay everyone in full. They told me that unless I pay them the $ so they can send it to the creditors that I won't get my retainer fee back. Is this fair? Why do I have to give them the $?
