I want to know why all of a sudden I am getting collection calls out the wazoo. Not from just one company, but at least six differant ones. I went a couple of years without receiving any, and now I'm getting at least 3 a DAY. when i checked my credit report the only thing I have on there that is current is a PDL from last year and my student loan. So where are all these calls coming from?

This comapany ( Academy Service) called my job and told the secretary all my personal information about my account..She gave me a piece of paper with the message, because we are not allowed personal phone calls. I was so embaressed and upset..I can't believe they are allowed to do this!?

Wondering if anyone knows what exactly we can do about them I have reported them to the canadian officials when i called the attorney Consumer Protection Hotline today they bascially told me that there is nothing I can do about them since they are not here in the US , If that is the case then there is nothing to be done about Illegal charges etc and harassment that they cause, I was told to report this on the FBI website for www.ic3.gov/ and to also use the canadian website to report this which is http://www.recol.ca/ did that b

I have noticed there are about 5 or so postings in the pub Titled "Chat" that various people ( myself included), have posted to let others know when they are in the chat room. Though it has been suggested before,there is no other way to know if someone is in the chat room, so these posts are made. tey tend to clutter up the forum and take up server and bandwidth space. How would the community feel about this: Delete previous "chat" (or similar) postings. Start a single new sticky post that one of the moderators can clean out or update daily where people can post when they are in chat?

:?: I am a home health worker. My client got a letter of AA regarding a $56 electric bill from 2000. When I called to inquire, the woman was rude, did not immediately identify herself and when I started to speak, told me that she had already spoken with me and told me what to do. When I told her that I had never spoken with her, she did calm down a bit. But my client paid all her bills at her previous residence before she moved 6 years ago. She is elderly and disabled and, of course, kept no records. Has anyone else had this negative an experience with this company?

Can a debt collector charge interest on a credit card account they have obtained. Currently a new company that has taken over an account of mine has increased the amount due from $2000 to $6000, stating it is interest. Is that possible?
